Storwize’s product line, the STN-6000p series, is a high-performance appliance featuring real-time lossless data compression technology that leverages a powerful multi-core hardware platform. The STN-6000p appliance is deployed between the network switch and the storage. The appliance can be clustered for high availability. The innovative compression algorithm in the appliance enables online data compression averaging at 65% across multiple applications more than 90% on critical business applications (such as databases), without performance degradation, and thus can be deployed even at the most data intensive enterprise environments. The appliance does not require workflow changes, software agents or server drivers and can be deployed seamlessly without any configuration changes to existing environments.

Share Filters:
the STN-6000p Series allows selective compression process, thus enabling gradual implementation of the Storwize solution into the customer's storage infrastructure, by configuring which shares will be operating in a compressed mode.
Link Aggregation:
Support for link aggregation protocols (802.3ad and EtherChannel) enables the grouping of multiple Ethernet network interfaces into one logical high‑bandwidth, redundant link.
Multi IP:
Multiple storage devices/interfaces can connect to a single appliance.
High Availability:
The HA configuration integrates seamlessly into highly-available networked storage infrastructures and maintains their HA features. This ensures continued access to data and helps eliminate costly downtime. It supports Active-Active and Active-Passive configurations.
WEB-based Administration Interface:
Storwize is configured using a simple and intuitive web-based GUI, which simplifies and streamlines the configuration process.
Command Line Administration Interface:
Command Line Interface (CLI) that enables configuration of the STN-6000p using Secured Shell (SSH) connections. The CLI fully covers all configuration tasks that can be performed using the web interface.
